A UPFA member of the Maharagama Municipal Council Sunil Ranasinghe died on Monday after being assaulted. A constable attached to the Maharagama Police and another suspect were arrested over his killing.
A post-mortem was conducted at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital yesterday and according to the Judicial Medical Officer death had occurred due to heart failure. It was also revealed that the deceased had undergone a heart surgery.

		Siyambalapitiya yesterday (21), informed the House that the 
		International Monetary Fund had agreed to grant a US$ 2.5-million loan 
		facility to Sri Lanka and the first tranche would be received on July
