Even though there were seven ministers for nation building, the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry had not met for the last 12 months, JVP MP Ranaweera Pathirana told Parliament yesterday (21).

According to the standing orders of Parliament a consultative committee should meet at least once a month, he said.

"There is no Minister to chair the committee and therefore cannot meet but the government levies the nation building tax", MP Ranaweera said.

Chief Government Whip Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on behalf of the Nation Building Minister asked for two months time to answer a question raised by the JVP MP (SI).
