Kandy - A Sub-Inspector of Police (SI) of a Special Police Unit at Bambalapitiya, Colombo, was arrested at Polgolla near Madawala for his alleged involvement in drug-trafficking, police said yesterday (21).

At the time of arrest, the SI had in his possession three packets containing 65 milligrams of heroin.

The arrest had been made by a special police team from Wattegama on the directions of DIG, Central Pujith Jayasundara acting on a tip-off, police said.

Investigations are conducted by U. Chinthaka Bandara, OIC Wattegama police station on the directions of ASP Sisira Weerakoon.
