Ranil de Silva, Managing Director of Leo Burnett Solutions inc., invited
a large gathering of people from many spheres to the elegant ‘Tintagel’,
at Rosmead Place to a cocktail reception to welcome Jarek Ziebinski,
President Leo Burnett Asia Pacific and Arvind Sharma, Chairman, Leo
Burnett South Asia. The rooms were decorated with beds of red apples
which is the logo of Leo Burnett world wide, and hydrangeas which is the
flower most favoured by Tintagel Udyashanth Fernando. The event brought
many a well dressed woman with the men for the most part in smart causal
attire, with some of them more inclined towards the casual. The Leo
Burnett staff made up for this with styles in all forms of dress joining
those of the best dressed calibre such as Otara Gunawardene and Ramali
Wijewardene who were both in Western dress. Otara had a sleeveless top
in charcoal with a deep V neckline combined with a grey slim skirt with
four stripes in black on either side at the waistline. Ramali whose
birthday was on that day wore a proverbial little black dress which was
also sleeveless and featured a U neckline. A tropical printed top in
several colours a guest wore with little drop aqaumaine earrings. Kisani
who is into the beauty business as she runs a Spa in a leading hotel had
her hang-out top in sheer black she teamed with a greyed blue skirt,
dressed up with a three strand necklace of jet beads. An unusual print
made the dress Anushka de Silva wore. The bare shouldered dress had a
saffron ruched top, and the skirt was in black with blocks of print on
it. The skirt and top combination Barabara wore was most effective. The
ecru skirt had thickly embroidered noses in black above the hemline, and
the sleeveless black top was on simple lines. A broad belt and a diamond
pendent on a black cord were the perfect finishing touches.
Saree was the choice of Shiromal Cooray in a fusion print of rainbow colour, and the CEO of MTV Shanthi wore a shade saree of Mysore georgette in a lovely shade of green. Black contrasted with a vivid torquoise in the saree Kumu Gomes wore with a black and turquoise necklace.
Brief speeches were made by Ranil and the distinguished guest from Leo Burnett South Asia and Asia Pacific.
