Herschelle Gibbs says he is enjoying a new role
batting at four, which has coincided with South Africa’s upturn
in fortunes against England.
"It’s a new position for me and I’d like to make
it my own," said Gibbs, who scored 100 in Sunday’s victory.
"It’s nice to be part of three 100 partnerships
in the last three games and hopefully there a few more to come.
"Our middle order is still a bit inexperienced
and that’s obviously the reason why they wanted me down there."
Home skipper Graeme Smith believes his side is
coming together after winning back-to-back games for the first
time in a year.
South Africa’s selectors have named an unchanged
squad for the last three matches of the series, with the next in
East London on Wednesday.
"The whole team is starting to perform well and
is stepping up when needed," said Smith, whose side is now 2-1
up in the series.
"It was a good all-round performance and that’s
starting to happen more and more often." - BBC
