Left arm spinner Sachith Pathirana with a superb
bowling spell guided Trinity College to victory over Dharamaraja
College after 35 years in their inter school cricket match
played at the Asgiriya Stadium on Sanday.
Before the Dharmaraja game, Trinity had won
three matches this season, but their spirits were down after the
disappointing performance against St. Joseph’s College, Colombo
but they bounced back yesterday at their home ground to seal a
                compressive 10 wicket victory.
Trinity last beat Dharmaraja at the same venue
under the leadership of Nihal Marambe in 1970 and this victory
was recorded under the captaincy of Maduranga Munaweera. Young
Pathirana had a good game claiming a match bag of 10 wickets and
already has collected 70 wickets this season. He has also scored
                a double hundred.
